Panzerotti (12 pieces)

The Italian panzerotti are a sandwich-sized version of the most renowned calzone which is a stuffed pizza with a half-moon shape.
The panzerotto is a Southern Italy dish, very popular in Lazio, Campania, Basilicata and overall Apulia. The most famous Apulian pazerotti filling is tomato and mozzarella, but you can add more ingredients like salami, ham, pitted olives, anchovies, onions, capers, and many more.
In this recipe I made the baked version with the filling of mozzarella, ham and tomato. It can be a great idea for your italian brunch! They can be both fried or baked in the oven.
